The Honey Factory

I might leave a super on the Olivarez hive because the winter cover is too long without it. I will be removing the super from the Golden West hive when we get a warm day.
Do you run 2 deeps over winter? Supplementing with sugar bricks?
Well add the supers back on, if our double deeps don't feel heavy enough.

Two deeps all year round. Sugar bricks - no.

Tried adding fondant one winter, worked well. Have fondant to add this year if I can ever get around to it. (You know the old round tuit problem.)

I also have pollen patties to ad which is another round tuit thing. The pollen patties might stop them from gathering the fines from the neighbor's chicken feed during warm days in the winter and spring.

In the past, I just started feeding 1:1 syrup in February.

We've talked about adding pollen patties. If we do, I'll make my own. If I get around tuit, yep I'm very familiar with that concept...lol
Right now they are still bringing in pollen.
