Yeah, ECs are very misleading. One would think that boarding would be a big source of money, but it really isn't. At best, you can eventually break even by boarding horses. *Sigh*
Growing crops is the best way to fund your EC.

Once you feel like you have plenty of money, you can buy a box or two and start boarding some horses. Eventually you can expand your EC until it's as big as you want. Don't rush it, though.

Be sure to leave at least 2,000e in your EC money. You should be able to get a medium meadow or two, I think. Don't get any boxes if you haven't already, and don't worry about boarding. That can come later.

I have 30,000e right now, medium meadows are 5,100, I should buy 2?

Ok I just did NO boxes and 3 fields of wheat and 2 of turnips. It says I can't do more than 5 to start with.

Sound ok to start with?

Which crops make the most money?

Oh and do I need to hire a groom to keep them clean, or not until I start boarding?

And how many acres are a medium size field? Is it better to get 1 medium or two smalls?
