Announcement The Coop Page / Article Rating & Review Project!

Pics
Ok, this is AWESOME and a PERFECT example of what this project (and BYC) is all about!

@Nardo gave a rating based on what our ideal coop article page should have and look like, but ALSO added a super helpful and friendly text rating.

@TropicalBabies liked the feedback and replied with equally awesome comment on the review.

BOOM!

(also, @TropicalBabies, sorry you had a hard time uploading pics to the site. We're always working to improve the process and make things easier)

Sorry, I should clarify! That's the NUMBER of ratings submitted, not the number of articles with those ratings! So, there are 3,389 5-star ratings, not 3389 articles with 5-stars.

But, the reason there are so many more 5-star ratings (not 5-star articles) is a combo of both of those factors you mentioned, but also that we tend to FEATURE and promote the best articles, so those get the most views / exposure, and then get the most # of ratings.

You asked
Well, that's a tricky question depending on how we round the numbers... but if I use the sql query:

"SELECT rating_avg, COUNT(rating_avg) AS average_count FROM `xf_nflj_ams_article` WHERE category_id IN (17,18,19,20) group by ROUND(rating_avg,1) ORDER BY `rating_avg` DESC"

we get:

... but if we change the "round" decimal_places to "0", we get:

You lost me now, Rob…

This is great!

I'm sure a few of you guys by now have found pages with missing images, for example many of them look like this:

Because many of our coop pages date back a good few years and BYC have been moved to new platforms twice in that time, some images unfortunately got lost, but...

We have a wonderful techie guy named Robert that figured out a way to get some of the missing images back and I've been bombarding the poor man with emails letting him know about pages, as we find them, so he can try and fix them for us.

I figured it would be easier if we all can put our finds in one place for him to access and keep track of what he looked at so far. I created a Google sheet for posting links to pages with missing images:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oh_-wG-Ah_NgIJnxmtG-uLcJD6HAJt9SlXhKFaZKbcU/edit#gid=0

I set the permissions on the sheet so anyone can edit, i.e. post stuff onto the sheet. So, if you guys find pages with image errors like the example above (and also PhotoBucket and Flickr errors), please post a link to the page on the sheet.

Thanks in advance!

This is a wonderful idea!
@Nifty-Chicken and
Can a link to this be added to the first post in this thread so it's easily found?

If its already done AWESOME and thanks. :D

Ok, and since I'm running data... here are the members doing the most REVIEWS vs. just doing ratings:

(To be clear, we don't have any requirements on ratings vs. reviews. In some cases having peeps spend more time on reviews is better, but in other cases it's better to just quickly go through and give just a rating).
