I just LOVE talking to "chicken experts" LOL They seem to "know it all" yet make the funniest remarks about raiseing chickens. Even tho we were raised on a farm...my sisters STILL think I am nuts for wanting " smelly chickens run all over, oh and can I get some eggs from ya?"

Some people! My sisters refer to my Aunt, ( who passed a few months ago) She would go out to her coop and sit with her hens, and talk to them, and hold them...They said she was " a little nuts, and IF I started doing that I was to be committed" Well...I told them, I already DO that! LOL They shake thier heads and tell me I need to get a " real life" I guess like thiers....super cities( cincinatti and Louisville) brunches with co workers, late's, and busy busy busy....Nope..I will take MY life ANY day..its hard work, but WE get the rewards! LOL And when the power goes out, how are THEY going to eat!?? NO MICROWAVE!! LOL

A couple of ladies at work asked me if I was going to eat the eggs, well of course I said yes. They looked at me like I'd lost my mind. "Ick, they are dirty with chicken poop and have feathers all over them and your going to EAT THEM?"

I actually wrote into a pet psychic about troubles I was having with Slifer and it actually worked!!!
So don't be too quick to discount some of them.
