The Hunt for the Blue Andalusian

Wow, at $7.50 a bird + shipping, they'd better be "Superior"... and I couldn't find any pics of them on their site.

I just wanted to mention that blue andalusian do not breed true. So if you go with an order of all blue chicks and decide to breed them later, you will get blue, black and splash offspring from them. Good luck in your search.

Thanks hinkjc. Yes, I was aware of this from reading on these boards.
I plan to see if they are a good fit for me before I make a decision to breed.

I assume that the birds they have posted on their site are the ones that are in condition at the time of the photos.

Mediterranean breeds are hard to get into condition when they are by themselves...much less when they are in breeding pens.

HI there! Inever found my 2 Andalusians lacked condition. In fact they were the easiest of birds to have around and other than getting a bit of frostbite on their huge combs & wattles were no trouble at all. They were the most laid-back birds I've had---they disliked arguments amonst the other birds and would stand between the fighting birds and nudge them away until they stopped. I used to call them "THE PEACE KEEPERS". I can't wait to start hatching some more this year. I've kepy them both free-range & penned and saw no difference !! I JUST LOVE THEM !!
