We're waiting here, too. My husband is do desparate he goes in after he gets home from work to check (you know, in case there's an egg and the other FOUR of us missed it...lol) and to rearrange the golf balls.......sometimes one per nest, sometimes two in one nest, none in another......

my oldest girls are about 12 - 13 weeks, youngest is 10 weeks. . . I am wondering when I should put "fake eggs" in the nest box. The two oldest sure are looking like hens. . . combs starting to show color. . .

I have one of 12 BO girl that has had really red comb and waddles for several weeks but as yet no eggs.
Now there are 3 with red combs and waddles the rest are still small and pinkish but they all are the same age, and they (not sure which) have been doing the egg laying song occasionally but still as yet no eggs.

I have golf balls in the nest and a very anxious DD11 who always asks if any eggs yet then goes and checks herself too.

I check the nests every morning and every night. I will probably pass out when I look and there's actually something in one.

Brindle: Same here....I am sure the heat is not helping, here in Sunny/Thunderstormy Florida.

I'm not home during the day so I haven't seen them in the nest boxes, but I can tell they have been in there. Have not put golf balls in yet. Will try to get ahold of some tonight.

What is the range that most start laying. What breeds usually lay earlier? Any known late starters?

I have BO, RIR, BR and Austrolorpes.

I'm waiting too. I have to BRs now 15 weeks old. I put their nest box in today. They eyed it suspiciously - the same as everything new that come their way.

If it is hot does it take longer for them to lay?

I have a few 18 and 19 weekers, and no eggs. I'm going on a 3 day vacation, starting tomorrow, and I just KNOW they'll lay while I'm gone. I have a 19 week sexlink, so she really should be laying anytime now.
