((Well, I'm here now, so my characters are open! I'll go ahead and get them started, join in with whatever character you want.))
"Aspen...?" Anise asked gentle, trying to get his attention as she approached the steel table were he set, looking intently into a microscope. The room was windowless and small, made smaller by the rows of metal racks lining the walls. They were stacked with trays, different sorts of plants growing in each, with watering systems and strips of full-spectrum lighting for all of them.
Aspen didn't reply for a few seconds, then answered slowly, without looking up, "Yes, Anise..."
"Can you pick up something to eat, please? I'm sick of this packaged junk." Anise's drivers license had been suspended for speeding a month back, so she wouldn't be able to drive anything for a few more days.
Aspen sighed, then took his eyes away from the microscope, where he had been studying the growth patterns of an extinct plant's leaf, and stood. Anise smiled sweetly, then gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, and left the room.
He turned off the microscope, then left the room, retrieving his coat from the small main room and saying a quick bye to his sister. Aspen exited and walked up the stairs to street level, emerging behind a building in a dead end alley. He walked to the opening to the street, checked that no one was watching, then stepped out and walked the block to where his hover-cycle sat.
Aspen placed his hands on the handles as he swung onto it, and it purred to life, lifting off the ground about a foot as it scanned the implanted key in his palms. He pulled into traffic and speed off to a Greek restaurant that he knew Anise liked. Parking a block away, he walking to the restaurant and ordering two gyro sandwiches, then sat down at a small metal, two-top table to wait for the food.
