Ok day 20 and I have chick that pipped very small hole in the egg then 16 hours and no progress in it all. I can hear the chick peeping in the egg. None of the other chicks have started at all. is it normal to have to pip that long

Ok so this baby pipped at wrong end. It did hatch on own however in the yolk wasn't completely absorbed. is doing great now up moving around. also has had 3 siblings sense.

Love learning! !! My 10 yo is trialing quails to show her dad she's ready for chickens. Then we can add chicks. Right now we have 4 quail eggs on day #4 in the incubator.

Just got home from work, left at 1:00 pm, had 2 eggs barely pipped, one about 13 hours, one less, DH checked about 2:30, got home at 5:15 to find 2 beautiful Lavender Orp chicks, they really want out, I know because they keep saying so. Almost dry & very active, I'm going to take them out soon as I have another 20 unpipped (visibly) eggs in the bator. And because I can't stand it. Did I mention they are almost dry. My brooder is in my craft room, warm, no drafts, brinsea brooder, am I going to make a big mistake?

you can grab them if they are fluffy!

you can even mist the side or top of the bator for instant humidity boost! CONGRATS!! PICS PICS!

Oh, miss sally sunshine, you are my favorite. I am just dying but I don't want to harm them. PS: they are from Hinks. This is my 2nd hatch, shipping problems w/1st, only 1 chick out of 5 eggs but she is a doll, a chocolate bantam orp, greenfire lines. She absolutely hated the incubator & screamed until I took her out, really. These 2 are quieter but still very active. I will try to post pictures. Thank you so much. for your prompt reply.
