The Incubator Thread

I received right after Christmas was the small yellow plastic one that is on ebay for $23.00. I laughed and told my husband I waste that much money. So what did I have to loose. It came in real quick also. In it now is my 2nd batch of quail-it only holds 5 to 7 eggs, and you can see right in there without opening. 1st batch hatched. Guys after I say this-with my luck-it will probably go down. But the little machine is right on the money.
When I was younger I use to hatch out of that yellow dome thing all the time. I had great results. I always had a 50% or a 100% hatch rate from 2 chicken eggs.

I never had luck with mine, and the wire was iffy the light would short, and this happened with 2 different bubble cords.

If I was to try it again... I would put the incubator in a open box to keep out drafts.

Yep! It is a piece but I really had good luck with mine about 25 years ago. But I didnt keep that long as a kid..

well got home in time to put them in lock down from out of town trip to care for family member who had surgery, but not get the cooler bator done. So next 2 days i get no sleep but so far so good, we have several that are questionable and 3 that died when temp went low, but looks like will still get several with 8 right on target at lock down.

got a little 32 dollar one off amazon that only holds 7 and put 7 more down in that yesterday, had to look up temps though as didn't see it was in celcius lol

no sleep for me tonight, eggs are starting to move around and the lock down evil mode is trying to start on 9 due to hatch tomorrow. Next time I will think before setting at 2 am because i'm bored, especially knowing how evil the LG is

first one pipped but was little to low and drowned, humidity is running 65-70

waiting on the other 8

5 pipped into egg yolk

3 dark eggs were clears couldn't see into them

Well, I am thinking that I am close to the temp needed for hatching. I set my eggs on February the 9th at 10:50pm and today at 5:20pm one chick peeped or at least there is a very small bullseye crack on one egg from the shell.

Hopefully they will all hatch out within a day..

Probably need to increase the temp a few tenths for the next hatch, but you are close. Good Luck!!

I just made 2 diff kinds of mini incubators using 7 w bulb heating them up a day and seeing what I think.

the one to the left is a small box the one to the right is a foldger's coffee tub.
