I put mine in a ziplock. But to make sure i wasnt hurting a live bird, i kinda peeled the shell from the air sac so i could look in first. Then i ziped it. It didnt smell. So that was nice. Bit it shouldnt make too much of a mess at that stage, so you can leave to bag open and just use it as a holder if that helps too. It was easier for me to do that, that way i can have more control over what im doing

Ok as i was about to open one egg i think it moved so i put it back! The other didn't so i opened it up and it was fully formed just drowned... i think... and unabsorbed yolk

Unfortunately this is not an Australorp! I wish it was though! I would like some more blue's!

Well, if you lived by me, I have some blue Australorp babies already, and will also be having some splash ones when I do a spring hatch. My splash pullet is just starting to lay eggs now, and my splash boy will be breeding her.
