has anyone ever seen this before? I am pretty sure this egg is dead, along with 4 others in my incubator. I was going to leave them to makensure, but in worried it might be bacteria that could harm my other eggs? Im not sure. But im sad. I just cleaned my incubator and thermometer and water cups with vinigar (hope thats okay to use) and im hoping for the best. I have one due on the 18th, and i need that one to live! Im down to 5 eggs out of 12. And 4 still have a long way to go.

Could it be because they were stored in the fridge?

If anyone has any advice. It would be very much appreciated.
There are people on BYC who have hatched egg's from Trader Joes and they were refrigerated. I currently have 12 fertile Trader Joes egg's in my bator. You have to let them set out to room tempature before putting them in the bator.

Just an early quitter and the stuff has broken down... no need to worry about bacteria unless the egg stinks... if it smells rotten, and trust me yiu WILL notice it and smell it, then that is one with bacteria and needs to be removed immediately...

Hi Chelsea,

I dont think eggs that have been in the fridge can be incubated... I think the coldness kills the embryo. Is this right @RavynFallen

Don't worry we all make mistakes and we just have to learn from them. If none hatch this time try again until you do!

Actually, it can be tough sometimes, but hatchibg refrigerated eggs is done quite frequently... there's even a whole thread about it... something like hatching TJ chickens, can't remember exact name but it's all about hatching fertile eggs from a US store called Trader Joe's... and ronott1 hatches those every year if they're available for the Easter HatchAlong... :)
