So get a bigger brush and work in sections. Wet a section of the paper first, add some watercolor and then continue until the page is covered. If you do the whole page it will dry before you finish and make it blotchy

You also don’t have to wet the page first, I usually do for backgrounds but you could just put the watercolor on normally depending on what works better for you.
