The intelligence level of chickens

Inside is one of my cockerels, quite happily sitting there! If I know anything, he is not going to be producing any eggs!

Just like any man checking out real estate.

It’s hard to measure the intelligence level of chickens. It certainly can’t be measured in the same way that we measure our own intelligence. Chickens are completely different creatures.


3 of my 4 chickens can do some sort of trick. The most impressive trick is basically like this:

To me, this at least demonstrates that chickens know how to figure things out to some extent. Popcorn (the above hen) is pretty good at this particular trick and also does it pretty quickly.
