obviously!! but are having a difficult time sexing. Not sure if bill n bean is a true method. And we have yet to get a quack. Also unsure what is wrong with howards bill as it appears to be flaking and blistering. Please any help with both would be greatly appreciated.

No quack Howard is really Howard! An easier way to tell on Khaki Campbells is the feather color above the tail, solid dark feathers = boy, two tone, pencilled feathers = girl. Enjoy him!

Oh, and I wouldn't worry about the bill. Others have said on here that it happens to the boys because of hormones. One of my drake's bill looks that way too!

Is Howard foraging around some rough places?

Yea we permit our ducks and chickens complete reign of backyard. Can post pics if needed. So the really rough looking bill is not abnormal? And should Howard be a Howard than thats awesome. Fingers were crossed for a little lady. Hopefully our Cayuga is a lady than!!

Looking more closely, it does look like Howard encountered something sharp while foraging. Watch the bill for a while, make sure it doesn't get infected, but it just looks like a surface scratch.

Actually, the origins of the Cayuga are not really known and there are multiple theories. It is not really know whether they are related to mallards at all. I have both, but we have never tried to hatch, so I can't speak to fertility of either species.
