when do campbells start to lay, if i went and got some ducklings this week when will they start to lay

My girl started laying at 19 1/2 weeks old.

I was thinking about expanding into different kinds of poultry and was looking into ducks, are campbells as good laying as they say and where is a good place to get show quality ones or should i get at a hatchery i would really like show quality

Khaki's are great egg layers. My girl started to lay last September and has given me an egg almost every single day since.

As for show quality Khaki's you can never guarantee that 2 SQ parents will produce SQ ducklings. If you are looking for Non-hatchery birds my suggestion would be to look here on BYC in the BUY-Sell-Trade Area. You can also look on ebay but find out first where the seller got their birds from.

If she is 3-4 months then looks like you have a female. I assume she quacks.

Ok folks, I was on the "Texas" thread bc I have stupid fire ants & carpenter ants by my duck house & pen

. They had lots of "home remedies" safe for chickens, but I have ducks. Would those same remedies be safe for ducks too: cornstarch, cinnamon, plant mint/spearmint, dry grits/Cream of Wheat?

I have read that using a strong solution of garlic poured on their mounds will chase fire ants right out. We don't seem to have them here, but we do have carpenter ants... I've seen the ducks eating them so I don't worry about it too much unless I find them in the house (then I call the guy to spray in the attic, but not outside)
