The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

@amiga off the current topic: did I read somewhere you had a white mallard?!?!? Where did you get him/her?

@caesargirl my best guess is she's a white Mallard, and she was at Nevins Farm, part of the Massachusetts SPCA system. What a honey!!!!!

She could conceivably be a mix.... but she was part of an entire flock when they first arrived. Her size seems Mallard to me, and her overall appearance.

Upon arrival. From what I can tell, Salem is a Khaki Campbell x Rouen x Khaki Campbell cross. In other words, one parent was probably a KC-Rouen cross, the other a KC. And she's definitely larger than Alba. my probably-white-Mallard.

Oh she's a doll! I've been trying to find Peep, my avatar, a male white mallard. She was dumped in our pond and is the only one here to not have one of her own kind.

I was really hoping someone would look at my pics and answers and be like "you idiot! you can't do....THIS" and I'd never do it again. Wish it were more simple. Frustrating!

Nevins had several drakes of her breed when I adopted her about a month ago - call them up!

They may not be that far from you - they are in Methuen, Massachusetts-

It's why duck people are so dedicated. When things go wrong, it can take a lot to figure it out.
It's also possible they had genetic issues. A very long shot. But didn't they come from the same place?

Ok, then I would need to figure out the source of possibly lead poisoning..... How confusing. Sick in July. Better. Sick in Sept. Better. Sick in Dec. Better, than really sick now. Go figure.
Any thoughts on why HER but not him? Maybe she ate something out of our driveway? He's the gobbler, eats everything he sees!

First two from Tractor Supply (one died at month old or so, second died 3 months old). Second Two (Howard & Hannah) from Runnings. I was told they all purchase (usually) from McMurray Hatchery. I've bought from McMurray before, chickens...no issues.
