The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

I love all the seasons, except maybe I love winter a little less.

I love the changes, I just don't like extreme cold. I love the freedom of no jackets, boots, gloves, or hats.
The only thing I don't like about spring is all the work of cleaning up and preparing to plant.

I love spring/summer and fall... hate winter..(except for the first beautiful snow...OR if we gets LOTS of snow..)
I love spring because of the smell of the earth. Theres nothing like seeing the first flower shoots in spring after a LONG COLD winter..... And i love the excitement of planning my garden and planting flowers..
Summer... Thats the fun time of year for me... the time to be outside alot and spend alot of time with my outside animals.. its a time for little camping trips and fishing and just being outside.. its also the time to start getting harvest from my little garden...

And fall... fall has always been my MOST favorite season.(its one of the reasons why i wont leave New England..). I just love the crisp air in fall.. And the smell of woodsmoke in the air too. And New England has the most beautiful fall foliage..(if you've never seen it..you just wont understand..). Theres nothing better than packing a lunch and driving along the Mohawk Trail when the leaves are peaking.... The hills literally turn neon orange and yellow and red...

And its also apple picking time... and that means candied apples!

Hi everyone,
Had company and finally have a moment to catch up.
#6- unbelievale experience- Would be the birth of my children.
#7- plastic although I like paper.
#8- My favorite thing about my yard is the fact it is ours and we can do what ever we want! I love listening to the night sounds.
#9-Camping the really roughing it kind. I like to ride the horses to where we camp and then out rides from there.
#10-Hard to pick just one. I love spring for gardening, flowers, camping ,swimming and horseback riding. I love fall colors. I love the birds at my feeders and ponds year round.

Wow, thanks Suzy for keeping this going in my workaholic absence!

I didn't even answer my own note #9....

I like to tent camp. I especially like to tent camp when I can carry it all in a backpack and be far, far away from all civilization. You meet the neatest people backpacking.

However, I also like to be in a motel. And then, I like to be in one that has a coffee maker, and maybe even a good breakfast. I'm known to grumble if it's less than 3 stars. If I'm going to rough it, I might as well be in a tent.

Note #10 - I love spring!
love.gif
the birds, the flowers, the soothing feeling of returning warmth!

The past two weekends, we have been preparing for our district Arts Festival. Rehearsals both Saturdays, lasting all day for the teachers, and 2 hours for each group of kids. Then, Sunday, we had the Festival in a gigantic 3000 seat theater. We got there early, had last minute rehearsal and warm-ups with the kids, then had a 2 1/2 hour concert, then spent an hour cleaning up. Then, I came home, and planned my week. I've been so tired, I've been napping more than chatting on line. I'm going to be heading for a nap soon!

How have you been?

I am looking for anger management therapy because health care passed

I think I am behind again..
#7- I wish paper was available. I have reusabale bags, when I remember to take them into the store. I do reuse the plastic ones for garbage.. chicken poop, cat poop LOL

#8- I don't have a favorite thing about my yard. We haven't lived here long enough( or , more accurately, had enough money) to get it nice looking yet.

#9-Camping - obviously from previous posts you can guess tent is for me. However, as I am getting older, that ground sure is hard. I have never experienced a 4 star hotel. I'm happy enough with a coffee maker!! Gotta have that coffee.

#10-Season, hmm.. Spring is awesome. The trees blooming, colors popping out of the ground. Animals and birds showing up. It's like a new year, a fresh start. BUT.. autumn is my favorite. I love the smell of crisp air overtaking the hot humidity of summer. The sight of autumn colors. The smells-leaves, pumpkins, Mmmmm apples!! I like the feeling of a warm fall day. It's almost like you appreciate the warm sunshine more because it is not as expected. Plus, kids go back to school in fall. Even though my kids are no longer in school, I can recall the excitement of a new school year- new clothes, new adventures.

I love all the seasons. Perhaps I have seasonal ADD.

By the end of the season I am ready for the next. By the end of winter I am itching for spring to get here. I love watching new growth pop out of the ground and new life in the pastures around me. When spring has erupted, I am ready for summer. I love cutting the grass and I love harvesting out of my garden. The pasture behind me is planted with corn every other year and I can smell it all summer long and hear the stalks waving in the breeze. It sounds like the ocean. When August gets here I am ready for fall. I am ready for the heat to move on. I love seeing the trees change and feeling the nip in the air. College football is going and you get the first hints of woodsmoke. Then I want winter. I want the cold and snow. I want to bundle up in sweaters. I want to pile up on the sofa with the dogs and cuddle under a warm afghan.

I like ALL of the seasons. I think I just like the anticipation of change.

Question #11 "If you had to lose a sense.. taste, touch, vision, hearing, sense of smell... which would it be and why?"

I guess I would go with taste.. I seriously need to loose weight and that would go along ways toward that end.... I don't think I would be a very happy person not seeing my kids or hearing them say I love you, or being able to enjoy holding their hands or petting my animals. The sense of smell is pretty much gone for me already as a nurse.. my nose hairs got singed off a long time ago..

Man am I gonna miss Cinnabons though
