Question #11 "If you had to lose a sense.. taste, touch, vision, hearing, sense of smell... which would it be and why?"

I would have to go with taste as well. The others are too useful and I would really miss them. As long as I could still smell stuff, I think it would scratch most of that itch. Plus, I need to lose weight too and this would be a pretty sure fire way of doing it.

jeauca, I also have very little sense of smell or taste left. I was one of the unfortunate who lost much of my sense of smell when I used Zicam when it first came out about 7 years ago. Taste is integral to smell, so my sense of taste has really been impaired.

If I could still taste things a little bit, I would give up my sense of smell. I miss smelling flowers and can't really tell what's cooking already. If I had to pick one of my remaining three, I would give up sight. I couldn't live without sound. I am a musician. That would kill me. And, touch, well, I can't imagine never being able to feel another person's skin, or my pet's fur, or a soft blanket, or the roughness of my cat's tongue. Or the warmth of the sun, or a good shower.

Yikes, I heard about that Zicam side effect. I am very sorry. I had used it a couple of times, but it burned so bad I couldn't keep using it. My girlfriend used it quite a bit, but apparently didn't have any problems. Wish you could taste again though... that must be hard.

It's mostly a sense of dullness when others say, "ooh, do you taste that cinnamon?" or "I smell roses," and I can't smell anything. The smell and taste have returned slightly, so I don't feel quite as impaired. Now, it's primarily that I never get a growly stomach because I smell something delicious.

Yes, it does keep me from eating too much.

Wow, good question!!!
Ok, touch-- I already have some loss of touch in one hand. It stinks. Vision- no, I woudn't choose that . I love to see, and I love to read. The braille wouldnt work ( see touch LOL)
Hearing, nope, I'd miss too much there. Taste- while I need to lose weight, and it could help there, I'd have to go with smell.
Loss of smelling could help lose weight- not smelling the cinnabons would make me not drift towards them. I'd rather not smell them, then smell the delicious smell and not be able to taste them. It would be too much a disappointment .
I was thinking of my husband while reviewing the senses.. and yes, smell is definately what I woud lose. Especially after he eats mexican foods.

Okay..i change mine! I choose smell too...
I want to keep taste though...

And i would die without vision... just die. I ALWAYS have a book in my hand..

I was just talking with the parrots, and definately decided I can't lose speech or hearing. It just wouldn't work, trying to teach them sign language.
