Note #21

When was the first time you watched a scary movie and what was it?

3rd grade sleep over... Night of the Living Dead... same summer... some tarantula movie at another sleep over.

First one was in a home that the living room was ground floor---meaning it was a partial basement and had windows right up to the ground outside....and her dad snuck out and scared us somethin good!

oh... he paid for it later alright.

ha ha, I was looking, where did #21 get posted.

I'll answer it anyway!

Not sure how old, but I was young, maybe like 4 or 5 years old.

'The Shuttered Room' that was scary!

After that, 'The Birds'

Boo, maple decided to take charge, since I was being lazy.

Ok, I skipped some..

Note #9 - "camping or motel? Camping- tent. and baking home made apple pie in a cardboard box, and making fresh ice cream in a can..
It totally amazes the high end trailer campers- the smell of apple pie cooking. But, the racoons also like the smell.

Note #15 - "Do you do spring cleaning? And if you do, how crazy do you get with it?"
Yes, and I can get pretty crazy- wash all walls, cielings, everything.. steam clean furniture, floors..

Note #17- "What is the highest mountain you've ever climbed?"
See my answer for the best vacation

Note #18 "What flowers are blooming in your yard right now?
I am not sure- whatever my husband planted. He has a green thumb. I have a brown thumb. Everything I plant dies.

Note #19 post 751 - "What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten for breakfast?"
Leftover tuna helper?

Note #21 post 781 by Maplesky7 - "When was the first time you watched a scary movie and what was it?"
I was 12. On a youth group camping trip. They snuck us in to an R rated movie. The Sentinal. It was more creepy than scary. The boys were hiding their eyes more than I was.

I figured out this weekend that there is 1 room in the house where my husband and I are not compatible- the kitchen. He uses a stinky germy disgusting sponge, I use a dishrag. He likes non-stick pots and pans, I prefer my 30 year old Revere Ware. He likes spicy- I can't do spicy. He likes to cook. I hate it.

PK, I didn't watch my first scary movie until I was in high school.

It was the first Alien. I hid my eyes through most of it. I am NOT a scary movie person.

Note #1 post 182 - "Have you ever held an unconventional job? What was it? Why did you like it?"
I worked at a State Park for 2 years. I cleared walking paths, painted signs, did controlled burns, help keep track of the wildlife within the park, helped rebuild and paint an old Ford tractor and did lifeguard duty at the park's lake during the summer. The Park Ranger offered to sponsor me to get into school to be a park ranger. DH (not dear) that I had at that time did not like me working there and so I didn't get to go to school for it.

Note #2 post 242 - "what is your all-time favorite tool, and what did you build with it?"
I think fencing pliers are the greatest thing since pockets on a shirt. I built fences!

Note #3 post 295 - "What is your town like? Why do you like living there? Where did you live before this?"
It is a small rural town that I really isn't like most towns. It is stretched out along a state highway with approx. 250 feet on each side of the road incorporated into the city limits. The city rents 2 rooms in a building, 1 for city hall and 1 small room for the police station.
I grew up on a huge farm and have lived in the country all my life except for a few months that I rented an apartment with a pasture behind it that I boarded my horses at.

Note #4 post 316 - "pens or pencils, and if pencils, then, mechanical or old-fashioned Ticonderoga No. 2"
Mechanical pencils

Note #5 post 348 - "What was your favorite game as a child?"
Whatever I could think up to do on horseback

Note #6 post 410 - "What is the most unbelievable experience you've ever had?"
Almost getting hit by a semi while riding one of my horses.

Note #7 post 439 - "paper, or plastic, or do you bring your own reusable cloth bag?"
Usually plastic, because I use them to sack up the eggs I sell and I cut them up and crochet with them.

Note #8 post 460 - "What is your favorite thing about your yard or garden besides your chickens?"
I own it!

Note #9 post 480 - "camping or motel? If you camp, tent or trailer. If you motel, motor lodge, or 5-star?"
I love to go camping with my horses. I haven't done that since I have so many animals now, I can't find anyone I trust to take care of them. I like to go to the 5 star hotels, too...haven't done that in many years.

- "Which is your favorite season and why?"

Spring...I like watching life begin every year.

Note #11 post 530 by jeacamom - ""If you had to lose a sense.. taste, touch, vision, hearing, sense of smell... which would it be and why?""
I couldn't choose one, there are so many things I would miss out on if I lost one of my senses.

Note #12 post 567 - "Who does the dishes at your house, and is it a fair system?"
I do them by hand...Fair??? NO!!

Note #13 post 597 - "What is the best vacation you've ever taken?"
Each time I take one it is the best. The last one was going to MN to visit my Mom and other family. I got to take my GD for the first time, it was like seeing everything for the first time again.

Note #14 post 617 - "Vanilla or chocolate? Remember, this is really a false dichotomy."
Vanilla!!!!

Note #15 post 656 - "Do you do spring cleaning? And if you do, how crazy do you get with it?"
NO!

- "You know how when you just flop on your bed and think, 'I'm just going to take a short nap' and then when you wake up it's 2 hours later? Does this happen to you?"

Yes...every time! That is why I don't flop down on the bed unless I am really tired.

Note #17 post 697 - "What is the highest mountain you've ever climbed?"
I've never climbed a mountain.

Note #18 post 733 - "What flowers are blooming in your yard right now? (Or if you still have snow, what flowers are you looking for first?)"
None...I have free ranging chickens and escape artist sheep and goats!

Note #19 post 751 - "What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten for breakfast?"
I don't think I eat weird things for breakfast.

Note #20 post 767 - "How do you celebrate Easter? And, what is the most memorable thing you ever did with your kids for the holiday?"
This year I spent it at First Monday Trades Day selling chickens, rabbits and goats. I missed Easter morning with the baskets from the Easter Bunny this year. DH sets traps for the Easter Bunny, so I guess he detoured around our place this year!!!
I used to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs and toys, and it was so much fun to watch the young ones find their treasures!

Note #21 post 781 by Maplesky7 - "When was the first time you watched a scary movie and what was it?"
I don't know how old I was, but the movie was Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. It was so scary...didn't help that was already afraid of birds!

Been going through some really horrible emotional stuff at home... so haven't been posting as much recently...

First scarey movie... and ONLY scarey movie... 12yo... Amityville Horror... don't know what my parents were thinking letting us go see that for my birthday. Jodi Pozzi and I practically sat in each others laps and cried through the whole thing. Who needs scarey movies when there is an abusive big brother at home?
hu.gif
I have avoided them like the plague ever since. When did evil become entertainment???

Hope everyone else is doing great. Just got home from work.. had a pretty good shift. And best of all came home to a spotless house.. God bless my little CP... she worked her patooti off while I was at work to make it so clean. Jewels in her crown for that one!!
