The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

I would not wish for anything, I read "The Monkey's Paw"

I remember that story from when I was in middle school, and it really made me understand the saying be careful what you wish for.

Note #18 post 733 - "What flowers are blooming in your yard right now? (Or if you still have snow, what flowers are you looking for first?)"

Ok, I get to reanswer this now. But, what is it called, anyone know?

purple bearded iris happens to be my favorite flower

my 2nd favorite is a hybrid pink double daffodil

The flower that makes me instantly happy is the one lonely purple crocus that happens to be the first flower to bloom every spring in my front yard. When that appears I know winter is on the way out.

Note #15 post 656 - "Do you do spring cleaning? And if you do, how crazy do you get with it?"

Yes I do and I do every room and every closet in every room from floor to ceiling and wall to wall.

"Spring cleaning" consists of things like washing the blankets, coats and dog beds before putting them into storage. That's as much as I do, everything else is just regular housework.

Still having issues with the dog beds though. Hawk (our second dog) came to us with a giant, couch-like bed, we actually call it his couch. Well it's kinda stiff, like furniture -- our other dog beds are washable like big pillows --- it stinks a little of course, and Hawk is VERY attached to it. Not only that, it's HUGE! Like, it won't fit inside his XL crate, so we have to have the crate AND the bed taking up floorspace, and then when it's hot the dogs want to lay on the floor instead of the bed.........So crate + dog couch + dog on floor = no room to walk! LOL
The thing is, we have no storage building, no garage, no extra closet space......no where to STORE this thing in the off season. I really hate to get rid of it, since it's almost like his "blankie" he prefers it over all of the other pillows because it's been his for the longest.
