What big hands you have!A friend’s egg, he didn’t have a scale but we did have a tape measure View attachment 2030056
I am not even sure which hen is laying these giant eggs. It may be a barred rock or a Sapphire gem. I think all the others in that coop lay dark brown eggs. I have 2 barred rocks and 2 Sapphire gems in that coop. Are they made to handle laying eggs like that? Oh my!
What big hands you have!
I just cracked my most recent small egg into the brownie batter tonight. It was a little bigger than a regular size marble! I did not think to weigh it. Now I wish I had.Largest egg I’ve a picture of on the scale:

That’s a Canadian Quarter, the same size as American
It is my largest so far, my scale was broken at the time, and I just took a picture of it out in the field. Well over 100g though certainly.@Kris5902 — That is one large egg!! The one in your hand with a bunch of others. Unless it just looks larger. But wow!

I've had a couple of eggs that were over 100 grams too, but I don't think I have pictures of them. It's weird how they can come out so huge or so tiny!!
I need to get me some of those! My tiny ones came from my Red Ranger hen “big Red” I lost her this summer. The Giants all come from Production Red Hylines.
