The pup listened. Its ears and eyes had already opened; normally it would be 2 more weeks until they opened however in Rainea pups grew faster because of the effects of their powers.

She walked out the other side of the boulder. A few feet in front of her, the valley widened and sloped down. Far away a horse could be heard neighing.

Matt's ears perked at the sound.

"That's Tulane," Alana said, jumpng over a rock. Shadow slipped through a gap between two boulders.
"He sounds pretty far away," she observed.

(I don't know, my dad just noticed a few days ago that she was walking around with her wing hanging on her side.)

"I told you three times that I was there," a voice shouted from just a little ways in front of them. A distant reply came from farther down the valley. "Yeah, well hurry up and get over here," the voice shouted again. A small hen hopped put of the long grass. "Hello! We have been waiting for you," she said cheerily.
