"Why is it so far away from everything?" Rocky asked.

"You can speak to plants?" Alektyra said curiously.

Sylvia landed on Calliope's back, startling her.

"Why is it so far away from everything?" Rocky asked.
"Long ago, all this used to be a forest. I don't know what happened to it, but the plants have mentioned a deep cold, long ago. I think that glaciers must have come through here at some point; the boulders back there are from glaciers. Somehow the Grandfather Oak survived."

"Oh..."

(Timeskip to when they're there?)

"Sort of like light and me?" Sylvia said, "Except I don't really communicate, just bend through understanding." she popped up above Calliope, not looking at Attollo.

(Sure)
They stood in front of the oak. It's branches were massive and the lower ones drooped to the ground, unable to support their own weight. Roots radiated out from the trunk, the largest over twenty feet tall. Moss, ferns, and ivy grew on the trunk, roots, and limbs, and small flowers surrounded the tree. Suzie flew off Tulane's back and onto the nearest branch. Even though it was one of the smaller branches on the ground, it was twice as tall as Tulane.

Kate and Rocky looked at the great tree in awe.

"Is this where the guardians are being kept?" asked Attollo, veering to stay aloft with the unbalanced paw.

"No, but hopefully I can find out where they are," Suzie said. "And it might be best if we stayed here. Nothing evil can go near this tree."
