Chapter 14

I awoke with shivers and heat waves all around my body.
"HANNAH!" Pepper shouted, "are you alright?!"
My tonuge was dry. It was hard to speak so I didn't. I looked at my surroundings. I was in a forest and on the ground. What about the bear! And the fox! Or was that fox dead?
"Eth...." I couldn't finish.
"I'm right here Hannah, there's a pond over there, go drink up."
I hobbled over to it. It seemed like it took my 50 years to get over there. I drank. I still felt dizzy after I was done.
"Let's... just get... back. I still... don't feel to... good." I said panting.
We walked the paste of a turtle. But Ethel and Pepper didn't mind.
"Is... that the coop?" I asked.
"I don't know. Maybe you're seeing things but let's just keep going straight." Ethel said.
My eyes were fluttering. "Can we take... a break... please?"
"We have only been at this for 10 minutes, but whatever you wish." Pepper said.
We stopped at a clearing to rest. Ethel and Pepper went to go catch bugs for me. They were really great friends. How can I ever thank them enough?
"Here's a dragonfly for you Hannah," Ethel said.
"Thank you."
"It's nearly getting dark, we should find a tree and stay there for the night. I can't believe it is taking us this long to get to the coop! We must have been going in circles." Pepper said.
We jumped up into a nice and coozy tree and I went to sleep fast. I knew I needed it....
