Chapter 18
"Hannah! That is great!!" Pepper was excited. But she might not be for long.
"But the thing is that I can't do that in the hen house because you know the girl or man will take my eggs and get me off the nest. So I have to go away for a month to hatch it out. And I also want 2 little chicks so they won't be lonely." I said.
"But... Hannah!" Ethel said glumly, "You can't go away from us! We'll miss you to death! What would we do without you!?"
"I don't know. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to come with me. It'll be boring since I'm going to go broody." I said back to her.
"When are you going to do this? What is your plan?" Pepper said emtionless.
"In 2 days...." I whispered.
"WHAT!? 2 DAYS!? Hannah!" Ethel yelled.
I looked away. I was about to cry. "Guys...." The tears came, "I love you guys so much! When I bring back the chicks I will let you play with them whenever! I'm so sorry, but I want to be a mother! Like I said you have a choice to come with me or be surprised to what I bring home!" I sobbed.
"Oh Hannah please don't cry!" Pepper said with sympothy, "If thats what you want to do then we won't stop you."
Ethel was getting mad and sad at the same time. "You can't just leave us though!" She shouted.
"My decision. Alright? You guys are the best." I smiled through my wet face.
"Well you will have to pick a mate then...." Pepper said with tears welling up in her eyes.
"I know.... let's not talk about that. I will just have to talk to Matt.... But yeah...." I said kinda embarrassed.
Ethel was calming down. "Ok Hannah. Your decision."
"Thank you Ethel, I knew you would understand!" I hugged her for a while. Tears were still streaming down my face.
I felt a tear drip on my back. She was crying. I didn't want to upset them so much so that's why I'm leaving in 2 days.
"When will you tell the flock?" Pepper asked.
"Tomorrow. But I don't know if it's really their business." I said.
"Why don't we just go and eat and hang out as much as possible before you leave?" Pepper said.
Me and Ethel agreed with her and we went off using our time very presciously.
