Ash looked back at stone.Stone followed Ash. He took in the dirty white hen and her sickly appearance. Her feathers were broken, her skin was scabbed. She looked old, but when he looked at her face he could tell she was barely older than he was. But all the life was gone from her. She looked…hopeless.
She peered at him with dark yellow eyes. “Where are you two from? I’ve never seen such healthy young birds.” She rasped.
“I’m getting you out of here” said ash.“You look like them.” Murmured the hen with no name. “But you’re not like them at all. You have hope in your eyes.”
(Totally fine)(So sorry! We went to pick up dinner.)
“I am from here, I think. I fell off of a loud thing.”“You look like them.” Murmured the hen with no name. “But you’re not like them at all. You have hope in your eyes.”
The hen barked a laugh. "There's no way. And no reason. Death will be here soon for me, and I welcome it. I will finally be free." She murmured.“I’m getting you out of here” said ash.
"Hmm. Perhaps you are. But wherever you live now, you should go back. There is only suffering here." She said.“I am from here, I think. I fell off of a loud thing.”
Ash studied the cage. She thought that if she clamped her beak on this part..and used her foot… There! The cage creaked open, painfully slow. The hen barked a laugh. "There's no way. And no reason. Death will be here soon for me, and I welcome it. I will finally be free." She murmured.

(is this ok, odder? Can ash rescue this hen?)
“I will help you home. Lean on stone for now. “She shifted in her cage, which wasn't large enough for her to stand.
The young red hen was pulling on her cage. It creaked and the dented wire door wrenched open.
"I don't know why you did that." She mumbled faintly. "I've no strength left in me, and nowhere to go." She stared out at the pullet and cockerel.
