"Mm." She said. "I'm feeling better. Let's trade places.""Oh. I guess maybe you should watch or something."
"No, I don't. I just hate how you don't feel the same way that I do about us." He plopped down on the ground. He looked at the ground sadly."You're already gone." She whispered. "You're already gone. You already hate me."
"Ok." He said. He gave each of the eggs a little kiss with his beak and jumped out of the nest. He stretched then sat in the entrance of the burrow, watching."Mm." She said. "I'm feeling better. Let's trade places."
Mist opened her beak, but no sound came out. She whirled and ran off through the woods, over the stream and into the trees, disappearing in seconds."No, I don't. I just hate how you don't feel the same way that I do about us." He plopped down on the ground. He looked at the ground sadly.
Flower settled down on the eggs. She smiled. They should hatch in a few days. She'd get to see her chicks."Ok." He said. He gave each of the eggs a little kiss with his beak and jumped out of the nest. He stretched then sat in the entrance of the burrow, watching.
Atlas watched. He didn't know what to do. He ran out of tears to cry. He didn't want to go find Mist for he knew that it would end well. He just curled up into a ball like structure and kept whispering four words over and over again. "It's all my fault. It's all my fault. It's all my fault."Mist opened her beak, but no sound came out. She whirled and ran off through the woods, over the stream and into the trees, disappearing in seconds.
A single shimmering black feather, edged with pale silver, came to rest on the ground she had stood on moments before.
Connor looked back at his happy mate with a worried face. "She ran away." He told her. "Your sister ran into the woods. My brother isn't going after her either."Flower settled down on the eggs. She smiled. They should hatch in a few days. She'd get to see her chicks.
"Eh, she'll come back. No sensible chicken would leave their flock forever."Connor looked back at his happy mate with a worried face. "She ran away." He told her. "Your sister ran into the woods. My brother isn't going after her either."
He nodded. "I think I'll go check on my brother then. He rolled himself up and keeps repeating something. I don't know what though." Connor walked out of the burrow and to his brother."Eh, she'll come back. No sensible chicken would leave their flock forever."
