I posted a while ago about my bantam ee rooster that started crowing in earnest around 6 weeks. We're in a subdivision and working feverishly on a fort-knox coop to put up on our land... but it takes a while to do a large coop! So until then my neighbors get to enjoy incessant crowing from 5:30 - 7:00 am.
Anyway, I have a little silkie roo that's around 10 weeks. I though to myself 'well at least silkies are slow to mature... I still have at least 6+ weeks until he starts crowing' NOT!!! He's been squacking a bit the past couple days and I heard his first crow this morning (which is horrible sounding, btw). What gives?
