. I had my humidity at 40-45% then 65% for lockdown. Of the 25 or so that made it to lockdown, only 7 hatched . I had a couple of not fully developed eggs in there, but the rest were fully developed, but shrink wrapped and dead. One had an internal pip, but was so very weak. I attempted to help it, but it didn't make it. :( I want to try again, but It breaks my heart to have so many fully developed chicks die I know the temperature was constant. I have a hovabator genesis 1588. I had 12 shipped eggs, and the rest were acquired locally, or from my own flock.

I'm sorry to hear your news.
All I can suggest is maybe your incubator screen reading is telling you fibs, and the humidity isn't what it says it is.
I've learned the hard way that I need to use a secondary digital thermometer & hydrometer with a probe so you can still close your 'bator lid properly and take readings. I did this after I lost all 9 of my eggs, and then tried with 3 duck eggs and lost them too. Turned out my humidity was way off and my temp was 2 degrees lower then my 'bator screen said it was.

At least now you can give those who did survive even more love and attention (and foody treats) and they are even more special!

All the best.x

I'm so sorry.

Im thinking that the screen must be reading off. I think the temp was fine. I just bought a new humidity/thermometer on amazon, Maybe i'll try again in a bit. I've never lost that many before.

Generally speaking, if the chicks shrink wrap, there wasn't sufficient Humidity, no matter what the gage is reading

Its always a good idea to buy your own thermometer and humidity check to put in and compare with what the incubator is reading, good luck with your next try hope it goes well :)
