The Migratory/Ornamental Waterfowl INFO Thread

you & me too brrrrrrrrrrrerrrrrrrrrrrrrerrrrrrrrrrrrr. Supposed to be 24 for us tonight. Way to cold and way to soon for it to get this cold. If we get temps this low it is very rare and usually late Jan to Feb.

yep, I know what yall mean, we have been in the 20 - 24 degree range every night this week, and looking that way for next week. I actually snowed about 80 miles north of me last night, virtually never does that. Both to die, dont know how you northerners do it with 20 being a hot days high in the winter

We need a shivering smiley face, or frown i guess. past few nights have been 17˚-19˚ plus the additional wind storms here and there and i'm not looking forward to the precipitation saturday.

at least tonight the low will be 30.

For real!!!! It is way to cold.. due to weather we will be splitting wood tomorrow instead of making ground boxes!! Hope my babies don't get too cold.. but where were they last weekend when it was in the 30s.. yeah in the water! I had even put out a bunch of straw for them to get into at night and not a single one did!

They must be better equipped for the cold than we are

I know we're freezing here too! I moved from NY to be warmer and it ain't happening people! WTH!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR

All of our waterers and pools have been frozen solid. The good thing with the pools is that you can tip them over and the ice falls out. Today its 45 but we're supposed to get a storm starting tomorrow night and right into Monday. I want my warm southern weather!!

And my geese and ducks are out in their water which makes me even colder looking at them. again....BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr

Dont worry Laurie, By August you'll be sick of it, LOL

kANGA,
Dont worry either, aint no such thing (like my grammar) as too cold for ducks here in the south, even the treeducks and stuff are fine down to the teens for a few hours, they others are like our northern cousins, they just laugh at us when we think it's cold, the old divers especially love it.

We are in the middle of a blizzard right now. Suppose to get 10+ inches of snow and 45 mph winds by tonight. Talk about cold. Tomorrows high is zero with wind chills of 35 degrees below zero. It was 35 degrees yesterday and it was a heat wave. Worked outside all day in a hooded sweat shirt.

Just looked outside and can't see the barn 50 yards from my house because of all the blowing snow.

My waterfowl doesn't handle it very well. They spend their entire days in on the straw in the barn. Don't blame them I guess.
