The mink killing my chickens are coming from my neighbors!

Yeah, I looked you up, you are only 6 hours away from me. That is not TOOO bad! LOL

I would guess that your neighbors had some mink escape from their pens. Mink are very hard to catch, and they probably would love to get them back, either dead or alive.

Here in South Dakota, we have several mink ranches, some with up to 10,000 mink. One ranch near Watertown, SD had some PETA followers break in and "liberate" the mink. Now, Hwy 212 east of Watertown is a fairly well traveled road, and it soon became known as the fur-covered highway.

Luckily, they did catch quite a few of the escapees, but still lost many of them. The "liberators" were later caught, but only got a slap on the wrist in Wisconsin, and were not prosecuted here in SD.

A mink is very fierce. I once had an Airedale that would kill a coon so fast that it would make your head spin. He tangled with a big mink one day, and the mink got a hold on the dog's nose. The dog was actually helpless till the mink let go. Big mistake on the mink's part. The dog shook him till he looke like a rag doll. Too bad, I would have liked to sell the pelt, but there wasn't much left, and I felt the dog deserved his revenge.
