Jean left her apartment, humming a tune as she carried a kitchen knife in her hand. As she walked down the hallway, she saw a guy with a switchblade exit his apartment. "Hey, bro!" She called out.

Zayne left his apartment just in time to see Kit change back into a human, letting out a curse that would’ve earned him a beating with a sandal had his nan been around. There’s a monster here? How did it get in? He thought, backing away as he glanced around the hall for an escape. If there was one creature, there had to be more.
As Jean called out from behind him, Zayne jumped, spinning around. His hand flew over his mouth to smother his startled yell. The last thing he wanted to do was alert one of those wretched beasts to his location.
“You’re not- you’re not one of those things too, are you?” Zayne stammered, looking her up and down. She looked human, but then again, so did that other girl.
 
Blake spat it out to the side, a stream of profanities escaping his lips (Oh my joy this chile 😅.) "I am an ex-army veteran, do you realize how disrespectful this is?"
"Oh, I'm sorry if I'm being disrespectful. I would think an ex-army veteran would be a little more respectful to a pair of shoes." Aisling said, arms crossed and eyebrows raised
