Lavender is a dilute of Black. So it should work. How (and like im in kindergarten, I beg of you)? Lavender needs 2 genes to show, and wouldn't the dominant white occupy 1 of those genes, leaving only 1 open for the other color?

No, they are different loci. How (and like im in kindergarten, I beg of you)? Lavender needs 2 genes to show, and wouldn't the dominant white occupy 1 of those genes, leaving only 1 open for the other color?
Because some just die.14 hatched! Two pipped internally and then died, I'm not sure why![]()
Yep at all ages.Because some just die.
Why if possible always have backup brood stock. You never know what will happenYep at all ages.
If I ever get thr bird pens finished and seperated, I want to buffer my pheonix numbers a bit with more hens. Other than that, knly whatever the hens manage to hide from meI think i'm just doing 2 hatches for myself this year. Don't know yet what other people will want me to do. Maybe if some roundheads or a family of hatch get here i may keep a couple of the chicks. My breedings will be both kelso one of the original broodpair and a line breeding of son to mom (same hen) I'll let a grey brooding hen set on her non fertile eggs and put the first clutch under the grey and then let her hatch her second clutch. I may do one clutch of the Grey's but the kelso are way more important to me.
Who else would like to enlighten us all to thier breeding plans.
