The Moonshiner's Chick Chat

Got some horrible news today.
The incubators I ordered are no longer available. They called to either cancel my order or see if I wanted to substitute a different model for a higher price.
According to them GQF is discontinuing their wafer model Hovabators.
Sad news for someone that has been using these since I was a kid.
Dang. I really wanted one

So what ya gonna do, big guy?

I guess first I'm going to start searching every place that still has any of the wafer ones available and see if any of them are asking a reasonable or cheap price.
I don't actually need any more so not desperate to pay any high prices. My other options are just roll with what I have. Mine are definitely usable they just look like hell. Pretty stained up and beat up. The main problem is both halves of the shell and the plastic water tray in the bottom.
You can buy those replacement parts. I think they'd run me about $30 or $35 per incubator. It's not bad but my addiction is screaming if you're going to pay that much might as well just buy a whole new incubator. Yes I have issues.
I've also had an idea for a while now to build a Hatcher from scratch that would hold all the eggs I would need and then some. The only problem with that this time. Never enough time. But yeah keeping that in mind because I'm using hovabator parts. So have an extra parts sitting around for that isn't a bad thing and also would it be a wise investment to buy new incubators when you never know I might have that one built by next spring.
Hold on wait a minute I I think my is talking to me again......

@Chookwagn @The Moonshiner

I got schooled from half way around the world on my blue BCs. Chooks was right from early on. 3 blues out of that whole bunch. That leaves me with this question. What different genes are at play here? The dark chicks with yellow undercarriage turn out black. The solid black chicks turn out black. Where’s the difference? These are the parents.

This is what I get too.... Mare hates it :) I also get Blues that look like they should be mottled and then just become solid blue.
