The problem is saving enough eggs in a reasonable amount of time to fill them up. I only have 3 RIR hens and I’m not really concerned with hatching any other except my Cochins. Lord knows I don’t need to get carried away with them.

Been awhile since I've posted in this thread. Shortly I'll be putting 13 serama eggs in the incubator. Though this is more of an experiment because some eggs have been in the fridge for months. I'll know in 7 days if any take.

I put some eggs from the fridge under a broody hen and they hatched. These were eggs from my chickens, not from the store.

Ok, if Bonk is brave enough to hatch this early, I’m going for it too! We’ll call it a fertility check. I’ll collect enough BC eggs to fill the NR360. If I can get a couple blues, whether male or female, it will be worth it.

I do but I’m not filling both, sir. It’s a test run. I gotta hatch some chicks before I go crazy.

I was thinking for the hatch season and your limited hens.
Use the 360 for a hatcher and load two rows in your FI tuner each week.

That’s not a bad idea. I don’t even have my RIR girls in the pen with a RIR rooster yet. I like the way you think and I might try that when I get into the full swing of hatching.
