I'm confused. 12 total. You gave away 3, you kept 3. That's 6, 50% of 12.

That 6 is only the ones I’m sure are pure. There’s 6 more still up for debate.

Is it possible that I’ve found some hens that throw heavy on the female side? I gave my buddy 3 well marked female RIRs and I’ve marked 3 of the ones that remain. There were only 12 of the RIR and RIR crosses. Maybe just luck? Ima get serious about it for the Easter HAL. No crosses will be involved in that one.

Yeah, I did experience that last year and these pullets came from those that hatched last year. Maybe I found the right ones to get me going in the right direction!
