Why are those markings particularly exciting? I'm asking because I'm trying to understand the excitement knowing that it's Rhoad Island Red. I don't know a whole lot about chick down on Rhoad Island Reds.

Final number for this hatch is 33. Total for the year is 88.

I set 51 eggs last Sunday and will be setting another batch this evening.

I got these 2 that I’m keeping. I also have some others that actually show the pattern but much lighter. Then there’s the ones with a dark stripe and dot on head. I would say my autosexing RIR project is going well. There’s some middle-of-the-roaders that are hard to say.
