I had mallards awhile back.
Bought like 8 ducklings from a guy. All turned out to be females then I had a hell of a time finding any true mallards anywhere. Just wanted one male. Saw an ad on CL for one male "wild type" mallard. I went and grabbed him up.
Brought him home, showed him the girls. They were all pretty much grown by then as was he. I put him down and he immediately hopped into the air and fly so far off I could barely see him.
I thought oh damn he's gone but he made a huge loop and came back and landed a few feet from where he took off from. That was crazy and in a couple years I had mallards flying all over the place.

My scovy girl started doing that and leading my blind one off. Had to clip a wing before the Teo dummies got lost or hit by a car

He was just showing off a little bit.

It was 107 F yesterday, supposed to be 111 F today. Unfortunately, I lost one of my birds yesterday to the heat. She was my oldest bird, a little over 6 years old.

Surprisingly my newer birds are going all right in this heat.

That's close to what we're getting too. I'm thinking my ducklings might be pushed to ship next week. I'm not sure. The four I brought home were pretty miserable the whole drive back to the gouse yesterday

Welp, ducklings shipped today, so they should be here by Saturday, most likely Friday

The 4 Little ducklings I brought home have settled in great with their chicken mama. She seems very happy to have some chicks, no matter ugly, deformed and gibberish sounding they may be to any other chicken.

Are they all offspring from your birds?

It is still 100F in the shade at 6pm. Said it got up to 109 F.

Some are but most of them I came in March and April so, they're several months old.

Found a hidden nest today.
Doubt they'll hatch since they all seem to be soft shelled but I'll throw them in the incubator and see.

I am almost certain those are snake eggs
