Moony life hack part 2...
After the chicks get a couple weeks old I move to theses feeders. They're the 7lb models.
To stop them from wasting so much of it I use standard 5 gallon buckets.
At first I just cut a few inches from the top.
And drop the feeder inside.
After that stage I cut them a little taller and also cut a piece from the bottom of the bucket.
Put the bottom piece inside then put the feeder on top of that.
I cut various heights of both pieces so as the chicks grow their feeders get higher off the floor. Going taller every week matches the chicks growth and not only keeps the feed in it keeps debris out.
