Facebook group...

I know Amer mentioned a Facebook genetics group and admittedly I don't know much about Facebook but I looked and only saw one genetics group. Maybe it wasn't the right one but geez it was amateur hour at best. Not very good.
But anyways.....
You're way beyond me on this Legbar stuff. I had legbars when they first came out. At the time my thing was to just stay clear of the Ress line cause I hated the idea of green eggs.
My girls looked pretty much like you legbar/Game cross girl. All mine was virtually identical and they bred true to produce like offspring.
Idk what happened with them later but they seem to be all over the place.
A few thoughts..... when you hear hoofbeats think horse not zebra. Where did or where would of any of this other stuff come from? Silver/gold ya not seeing it and where would the silver come from?
You mentioned the other dilute genes. Idk much about them but where would they have came from and why? I don't which dilute what or when etc. Most all I know about genetics is from personal breeding. I don't read up on the stuff and don't know the technical terms for a lot.
I just don't understand why the first ones seemed to be set in stone with their genetics but now there's all this talk about different genes.
All those lines where the h... did straight crele come from. How/why did they lose the dilute gene?
I watched the opal legbars being created. I.asked about keeping or losing the dilute gene with them. I thought the opals would look better without it but the one breeder was breeding back to legbars so that kept it in and then it was an all out effort to put as many opals on the ground as possible and as fast as possible so the whole cream gene didn't matter at that point.
Just from watching that I thought it was a dominant gene because the offspring didn't start showing a difference until the opal to opal breeding ramped up.
I'm just trying to follow along at this point with this conversation.
