Don't encourage him!

I have read that when project birds fit the breed standard in phenotype and consistently reproduce themselves, they can be referred to as and shown as XYZ breed. So if you outcross to a different breed to bring in a certain gene or color variation, and then back cross to the original breed until it consistently reproduces itself and looks like the breed you are working with, then it can be considered that breed. As long as all the hallmark features are there and appropriate for the breed, and the birds are not a heterozygous soup pot of genes, you're good as far as I understand.
So how do you feel about satin silkies being silkies?

He's from some nice halter horses so ya he was bred to just look pretty.

I'm disappointed that we were to have a VS The Fireman baby this year but the owner took the mare home to have the baby there.
It'll be back to the barn at some point but I'll probably go see it at home way before then.
VS The Fireman just sold for 2.25 million so I really wanted to see how that baby looked.

OK I just don't get modern western pleasure. I realize I'm probably the only one in this camp, but these horses look like they're about to fall on their faces, like they're in some sort of a daze. Western pleasure didn't look like this 20 years ago. Different strokes for different folks.
