The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Can you post a pic of a dubbed bird please?

I love my EEs, have had them for 15 years. They are easy keepers and all that. I am finally moving away from them toward pb Ams though. Reason being, all those years, I thought, if I am going to lose a chicken to a dog or raccoon, I want it to be a $3 bird, not a $30 one. I don't have losses any more, or haven't in a long time, so thought I would risk some high-dollar birds that breed true.
Here is what a gamecock looks like dubbed. This was a single combed bird. For show, like in the LF Old English Games we use to have, their comb is required to not be dubbed so close to the head.

This is a dubbed American Game.

And this is a dubbed standard Old English Game (LF, not bantam). Also single combed.

With dubbing, the wattles, comb, and earlobes are all removed.

My son has some blue and splash Ameraucanas and they are cool little birds. The ones he has have no fear of people and are so calm. His little blue cockerel, Kirk, greets you at the coop door and lets you pick him up. He gets out everyday because while you are trying to water he walks out the door. But stays closeby and is easy to pick up. I had a hatchery EE hen once who was an egg eater and she was a lunatic. She didn’t stay here long.

Lots to catch up on. :yesss:
Give me something to do at work besides working.

In the meantime...
My lonely empty brooder...

No chick rukus to start my day to. :hit
It's gonna be a long 6 months. Guess I should go ahead and drag the Christmas tree out. Let it occupy that space until chick season starts again. 🎄

This isn’t Leghorn related except that I am not getting Moony Leghorn eggs this year because this happened:

I didn’t even realize I had a hen sitting on a clutch in the woods. If any of these hatch they will be mongrel chickens—mom is a Leiper-Hatch game and Dad is a game/EE.

My plan to get Moony eggs is now to have someone else hatch them in an incubator for me next spring :gig If that ain’t irony I don’t know what is
