I would keep the dark meat and give the rest to the dogs lolGot all the roosters butchered. Lost count of how many we did. Breast meat for us, and leg quarters for the dogs. The roosters were 3 and 4 months old from 2 sets of eggs, so all were still fryers.

Dark meat is the best! It has more fat which means flavor and doesn't dry out as quickly as breast meat! Don't you people watch cooking shows?!? 
Me too, but I had a coupon on a perfume I have been wanting but wanted to test it out first. It's hard to blind buy perfumes and fragrances online if you haven't smelled them before. lolDid all my black Friday shopping from home. I hate crowds.
I'm not a huge fan of Coq au Vin. We tend to only eat the breast meat from heritage dual purpose or layer type roosters we butcher because they tend to be smaller and we don't bother plucking them. We will eat drumsticks and stuff, but only from Cornish cross broilers that have more meat on their legs at a younger age. We scald and pluck broilers when we raise those, so we will eat the drumsticks and thighs from those.The silvers are gorgeous!
