@KF0002 How are those new chick's doing this morning?

They are all doing great. No losses yet in the newest group. They are a lot more skittish and wild because I have been pretty hands off with this group. Lots of Whites, which tickles my husband. I keep counting and coming up with 23 chicks and not 22 so perhaps I miscounted. I guess 23/25 eggs that made it to lockdown instead of 22/24.

Lots of Crele project chicks too which tickles me. Since only half of those will be Crele, and half will be GDW, I have to hatch larger number of those to cull through the pullets, only selecting for crele, non-crested, white egg laying pullets to breed forward.

I do think 2 of the Buff x incomplete BTRs are complete columbian so if those are yellow legged pullets, that would be great. lol.

The 8 chicks in the brooder building are doing well also. I will try to remember to get a pic of them today.

Not the greatest quality picture due to the red heat bulb, but here they are, alive and well. My husband has to pick up some more clear heat bulbs. We usually only use the red ones when we have feather pickers.

Went out to the coop a bit ago to do a last check on the flock before dark. I heard a crow, so I waited to see which one it was. It was the crele moony from out of that first hatch. They are maturing now, I guess.

So, about 4.5 months. Yes, they do sound cute! Ee-ee-eeeee-eee!

Now that my Moon Shadow has found his crow, he's growing up a bit. Today instead of ducking away from an OG hen, he pecked at her first! The flock dynamics, they be a changing. Fingers crossed he doesn't turn into a jerk!

One of the pullets had her hackles raised to him earlier. Maybe she doesn't like him.

My cockerel is finally feeling bold enough to crow every morning but he is otherwise pretty mellow about it. Which is a good thing because he sounds pretty creaky still, bless his heart
