The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Hey Moony, these look good color wise for a light brown and a silver, right?

So I know females with single combs get large combs, do female rosecombs get large combs too?
No.

Do they have gold shafts on their brown feathers? Proper light brown and silver Leghorns don't have gold shafts "shafting." They have even stippled feathers. Yours look right from what I can see.

I don't think so. Their picks actually are pretty darn close to real life

Sometimes I see "shipping crates" that people have got. They're basically plywood boxes. I often think that's an easy brooder right there.
Not sure what kind of business get them or what sort of stuff ships in them.
Someone figure it out and I'll go on the hunt.
Urns, and headstones. I work in death care, and we get tons of crates from overseas... oh, and bigass printers come in giant wooden crates. I've taken them from work before.

I tell ya, either they have a huge clientele and they cannot meet the demands or they are running it with a skeleton crew with very limited output.
@The Moonshiner I believe may have done business with them I'm not sure. But from what I've read it's like pulling teeth.
On paper they get you excited on what they have available.
I think there was some health issues in the family slowing everything down a bit.
I wish them luck.
Here's some snooping I did on their set-up. Thank you Google Satellite Imaging...

And farther from Greenfire.
Yeah, not a fan of their prices. But they are very good at selling chickens.
I wanted to build a bunch of pens this year to be set come spring but these d@mn wood prices are killing a hillbilly's dream.
Come spring I might just have a pallet shanty town going on.
You are telling me! They guy that mows my lawn works for a manufactured home place. They get 4"x4"x8'-ish oak poles on the trucks that stuff sits on. They told him to throw them away. He asked if he could have them and they said sure. He loads them up and sells them on Facebook Marketplace. I had him deliver 60 of them to me for $120. A few of them aren't perfectly straight and the height isn't completely uniform, but they are way cheaper than getting poles from somewhere else. I'm using them to build new breeding pens. I've got most of the bantam pens' poles sunk. Of course I still have to buy lumber to frame stuff, and the metal and wire, but I'm thankful every time I pick one of those heavy heifers up and tote it out to put in a new hole I've dug. I'll probably need a whole other load to finish the pens for the Orpingtons.

That's a hell of a score.
I've been looking into posts for a sizable 6' fence. Looked at 4x4s, round posts and chain link posts. Nothing seems reasonable when I need the amount I do.
If I was you I'd tell him just keep them coming.
