The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Beautiful chicks.
Thanks
Idk if you remember it seems like forever ago I mentioned trying to create the lavender on silver duckwing instead of on gold like the isabel. My thought was a maybe cleaner look with having white instead of the staw color the isabel have.
About the same time I talked about barring on gold and silver duckwing.
I did hatch a barred gold duckwing but lost her at about 6 weeks old.
Still waiting on a barred silver duckwing.

Good luck with the hatching!
:fl
spring must really be here. I mean there.
Spring is here but its been nothing but rain. We had 12 out of 13 days with at least some rain then 3 days off. Rained yesterday is raining today and forecast shows at least chance of rain at least next 5 days.
Think news said 3rd highest rainfall amount for any May.

Would you rate them as prolific layers?
Some yes others not as much.
I've got several varieties from different sources and different varieties from crossing different varieties.
It's not like all of mine are the same variety or like they're all hatchery birds or all SOP birds so its a huge mix.

Who wants to go on a project ride along? Or genetics play along?
I've got a few 55 flowery leghorns but no 55 rooster so I've decided to use a couple for a project.
I'll be setting up a breeding pen in a week or so. So here's what I'll have.
55 flowery leghorn hens

And a silver leghorn rooster

This should be an interesting project and in a few generations have some good results.
I won't give away too much yet but if you're new to genetics or interested to see how some projects work follow along or even play along.
Ok. If you know genetics well or plan to use the calculator refrain from answering so we can get some less knowledgeable people involved and maybe excited.
If this stuff comes easy and you want to get involved in a bit faster speed feel free to pm me your thoughts and I'll add you to the post just so others know you're ahead of the game or have it all figured out.
First things first then. Who knows the genetics of these to varieties?
