I have exchequer so I was thinking a splash mottled male would guarantee 100% blue mottled. That's the only reason I bred for splash

I clearly didn't think that part through. Some are gonna be difficult so I'll test breed when needed.

For my d'Anvers I just don't breed from blue quail cockerels, then I don't have to deal with splash quail, since they're not recognized. It might be a waste of a cockerel, but oh well.

I've been trying for a male of any variety. I've got a blue quail amd splash quail hen and they're so pretty. I love the splash cor comparison
