Be like me and over order because I'm expecting one or two to hatch or none and get 80% on all the ordered eggs I set.

I have had 2-3 chicks hatch out of 12-24 before, and I've had upwards of 80% hatch rates, especially with turkey eggs. Turkey eggs tend to handle shipping better. Last year, I ordered Painted eggs and they traveled over 1300 miles and I got awesome hatch rates. When I ordered my Cream/Crele/White Legbar eggs in 2014, I paid like $150 for 2 dozen with shipping, and only ended up with 3 chicks out of them. So if I only end up with a couple chicks out of each bunch, I will take what I can get. Even one is better than none.

I spoke with a retired Leghorn breeder who used to breed Crele Leghorns here in the U.S. His birds were pretty amazing. Its a shame he doesn’t have them anymore. I wonder why the variety didn’t take off?

And they're lovely
But personally and no offense intended, I do prefer the pictures of the adult birds.
(I've recently finished listening to the Pride and Prejudice audiobook and my dialogue is going to be affected for at least 24 hours.)

I wonder how they took that absurd picture. I can only imagine she held the incubator lid to her face so someone could snap a picture. Actually, I now see the reflection of a phone screen in selfie mode on the window meaning she took this insane photo herself and had to hold the phone in one hand and the lid in the other.

Turkey eggs with good hatch rates? I never would have imagined. I always had assumed that turkeys were difficult to hatch. Well now I want to try shipped turkey eggs but I'm afraid I've never hatched any turkey eggs before and would probably fail on one particular or another that is unique to turkey eggs.

I don't normally have any trouble hatching turkey eggs once I figured out they like a dryer incubation. I keep my humidity no higher than 30-35% the first 24 days and they hatch really well (my husband says I hatch them too well. lol) If you ever want to try to hatch some, let me know. If I have any extras and the hens are cooperative, I will send you some. I have set all I want from the turkey pens for the year.

I thought maybe someone took the picture for her with her face held up to the lid, but you're right! I see the phone now where she took the pic herself. lol
Effective indeed, I thought it was pretty funny, and very fitting since I will have my face pressed up against the glass of the incubator quite a bit over the next few days.

I worked on a few pens today. The doors swung into the pens and we're just above the bottom frame board. I half ass do deep litter so if amount builds up I'm pushing against it with the door when I open it. I cut all the doors down and added a 2x6 across the bottom of the pen frame. That way when I swing the door open it's a good six inches off the dirt. No more dragging.
