The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I watched the auction on Fb where VS Code Red sold for 1 million. VS The Fireman is the nephew, I think of VS Code Red. Beautiful stallions, both of them.
Code Red's daughter is The Fireman's momma.
Flatline is Code Red's half brother (same momma) We have a few Flatline babies at the barn.

I forget, why is MF so taboo? If I attempt a MF project someday, will you all still be my friends? 😬

You are absolutely allowed to make MF chickens :D

He's from some nice halter horses so ya he was bred to just look pretty.

I'm disappointed that we were to have a VS The Fireman baby this year but the owner took the mare home to have the baby there.
It'll be back to the barn at some point but I'll probably go see it at home way before then.
VS The Fireman just sold for 2.25 million so I really wanted to see how that baby looked.

Impressive!

Lost two more to coons. My bantam blue cochin and a silver Phoenix hen. Electric is incoming. Seriously thinking a dog maybe. Didn't have the gun ready and the thing was stuck in the pen.

😕🫤🙁😞
For real get a couple dog proof traps asap. You'll have to look because prices are all over the place. I ended up finding mine at our local farm store for about the cheapest and that also had them in my hand same day.
This is them and the current price at my store...

I used to trap when I was a teen so I knew a bit. When I had coon issues I'd use a live trap and a few leg holds. They would work but then I found these and decided to give them a try. So much less hassle without having to worry about catching something else.
These things work great. I have three and when I have signs of a coon I set them and more often than not I have it caught by the next morning.

Working on that now as well.
