I been thinking several days now of asking you where I can get some leghorn chicks or hatching egg's that aren't the white ones. I think that the red leghorns look pretty. What would be your advice for me?

The Reds are the worst to find unfortunately. There's only a couple places that seem to offer them and they're not very hardy.

They're a Mediterranean breed so they're supposed to handle heat well.
Idk what your weather is really like. We often get in the 90s here and a few days will top 100° and they do OK. We have humidity though so idk how that factors in.
I know when it's hot here the real feel is usually 10° hotter while I've noticed what seems so strange to me is that out there the real feel is often lower then actual temp.

It's currently 108 F here at 3:15 pm. Sometimes it's hotter then this though. I have 3 water stations for the flock to make sure there is plenty of water available for them, and I have shade cloth covering the top and top sides of the run that is attached to the coop, with a 6 nozzle misting system at the far end away from the coop.

That's why i have so many big water containers and the misting system out there for them.

So. If the leghorns would do better, what color besides the white should I be looking into?
